eInstruction Announces Interwrite Workspace for Windows Version 7.50
Updated version includes text, picture and toolbar enhancements for Microsoft Windows software
Denton, TX — March 18, 2008 — eInstruction®, a premier global provider of interactive learning solutions, today released version 7.50 of its Interwrite™ Workspace Software for Microsoft Windows. Workspace is eInstruction’s next-generation educational software application for creating, teaching and assessing student performance using digital content. Used with an Interwrite Board, Pad, Panel or personal response system, Workspace allows teachers to interact with any form of digital content while engaging their students.
The upgraded version includes 40 new Interwrite Sims, which are instructive animations and simulations that engage the student. It allows the user to add content to the Gallery by dragging and dropping the content directly into the Gallery. New functionalities include a handwriting recognition package that provides enhanced handwriting recognition with a dictionary lookup. Workspace for Windows 7.50 boasts an updated PowerPoint import/export tool that allows the user to more easily use content and lessons that may already be in that format. In addition, the upgraded software supports more languages, such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
"We are excited to offer these enhancements to our customers to elevate creativity in the interactive classroom," said Eric Timmons, chief product officer for eInstruction, "Not only are we making the integration of technology in their classroom easier, but we are doing so in a way that will provide more engaging, lasting and efficient results."
Workspace for Mac 4.12 was released on March 7, 2008. Version 4.12 is similar to version 4.10, but the new software includes updated localized help files in 13 different languages.
Interwrite Workspace compliments and enhances eInstruction’s product offerings. Just last month, eInstruction finalized the acquisition of Interwrite Learning. The merger opens a wealth of opportunities to best serve the K-12 and higher education markets worldwide by building on the significant impact of both companies’ leading technology solutions. The intention to merge was first announced December 4, 2007.
"During this transition, we remain committed to our mission of enhancing learning through innovation and will continue to support both product lines," said Darrell Ward, chief executive office of eInstruction. "We are also working closely with our customers to ensure that we integrate our products, communities and resources to best meet their needs and enhance teaching and learning."
