eInstruction™ Adds Distance Learning Capability to its Industry Leading Student Response Solution
Web-enabled vClicker can be used to instantly engage higher education students in any location
Denton, Tex. (Oct. 28, 2008)— eInstruction, a premier global provider of interactive learning solutions, today announces its latest student response solution for distance learning, vClicker Mobile Learning Edition (MLE). vClicker MLE is a web-based response solution that enables participants to submit responses to instructor questions via the Internet.
vClicker MLE is backwards compatible with the eInstruction's hardware-based response system, making it easy for existing eInstruction customers to add remote locations while continuing to use their CPS (Classroom Performance System) clickers. The vClicker runs in a browser on any computing device running Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems. Instructors can deliver questions from virtually any source material - PowerPoint, Word, publisher material, online platforms, etc. - and can select real time or self-paced response mode.
With over 1,000 university customers and millions of student users, eInstruction is the leading higher education student response solution. vClicker MLE extends eInstruction's student product offerings by providing schools with greater flexibility in how, when and where they deliver assessments and collect feedback. No longer limited to a single physical classroom, vClicker MLE supports multiple classrooms of physical CPS clickers, remote users via an Internet connection and any combination thereof.
vClicker MLE is ideal for:
- Integrated distance learning - the integration of live, in-group instruction or interaction with a distance learning curriculum.
- Teacher-mediated remote classrooms or campuses - students participate in a synchronous virtual classroom led by an instructor at one site and students at various other sites; student response data is immediately accessible to the instructor and students through a LMS.
- Independent study - students can work on a self-paced course and turn in a variety of assignments using vClicker MLE's student-paced assessment mode.
- Web-based courses - a structured course delivered to students at various sites whereby vClicker MLE allows for automated data collection of interactive responses; student response data is immediately accessible to the instructor and students through a LMS.
- PocketPC/mobile learning - students can access course content stored or streamed to a mobile internet device or through a wireless server and answer displayed questions using vClicker MLE.
- Podcasting - students listens to and/or watch a video of a course and answer displayed questions using vClicker MLE.
To connect via the web, students simply enter their class code then are automatically connected to the instructor's system regardless of location. Hosting is handled by eInstruction, simplifying the user organization's infrastructure and systems management.
vClicker MLE is compatible with all of eInstruction's classroom instruction and assessment products, including its line of interactive whiteboards and mobile tablets as well as the industry standard ExamView® assessment suite.

About eInstruction™
eInstruction pioneered the first student response system for the education market during the 1980s. Its
Classroom Performance System (CPS) provides instructors and students with real-time feedback on comprehension
during instruction. Today CPS remains the leading student response system in education, being used by over 1.5
million students in more than 60,000 K-12 classrooms and over 400,000 students in more than 400 colleges and
universities. In 2006, eInstruction acquired FSCreations and integrated its ExamView® and Learning Series content
into CPS; so instructors can seamlessly use publisher and proprietary question banks in lesson plans, quizzes and
tests with eInstruction technology. The result is an integrated system for instruction and assessment with real-time
feedback. In 2008, eInstruction joined forces with Interwrite Learning®, another premier global provider of interactive
learning solutions to the primary, secondary and higher education markets. For media inquiries, please contact Christy
