Known Issues
- Interwrite Workspace
-
Can't rotate Bitmaps,
Highlighter, Shapes, Stamps, or Text entities.
-
Can't stretch or
resize
polyline entities.
Known
Issues - Device Manager
-
Launching applications from a menu on an
Interwrite Learning Board or Pad do not work when "sudo"
version
1.6.7p5 or
older is installed.
- To find out what version of "sudo" is installed on your system,
open a terminal then type "sudo -V" and press enter.
- The latest version of "sudo" can be downloaded from
http://www.gratisoft.us/sudo/sudo.html
Note: "sudo" must
be installed to a location that is included in the systems
default search path otherwise it will not be found.
The default search path on most systems includes '/usr/bin'
but, you should refer to your system's documentation for
more details.
- Launching applications from a menu on an Interwrite
Learning Board or Pad do not work if the "finger" utility is
not installed.
- On SuSe 10.2, there is an issue with
the Bluetooth service recognizing the Bluetooth USB Adapter when the
system is booted with the adapter plugged in.
This is a SuSe 10.2
issue and can be resolved by.
- Simply unplug the Bluetooth USB
Adapter, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in.
- Or, restart the Bluetooth service by
typing the following command as root user "/etc/init.d/bluetooth
restart".
- Fedora Core 6: Workspace Device
Manager Service fails to automatically start during the boot
process.
This is a result of Fedora Core 6 requiring a tty before the sudo
command can be used. The default is to have this requirement
disabled but, FC6 decided to enable it by default. Follow the steps
outlined below to resolve the issue.
- Login as root
- Change to the /etc directory
- Type "export EDITOR=gedit" and press the enter key. You can
replace gedit with your favorite editor.
- Type "sudoedit sudoers" and press the enter key.
- Locate and comment out the line containing "Defaults
requiretty"
- Save the changes that you just made to the sudoers file and
reboot.
- Device is connected but, no pointer movement.
This could be a result of having SELinux enabled. If SELinux is
enabled there may be a problem with X not being able to load our X
driver. To rectify this issue, you can try one of the
following:
- Change the default security context for IWDMxMouse_drv.so by
issuing this command as root user:
“chcon -t texrel_shlib_t /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/IWDMxMouse_drv.so”
- Disabling SELinux altogether by setting the line
“SELINUX=disabled” in your “/etc/sysconfig/selinux” file. You
will need to be root user to edit this file.
For more information about SELinux, please consult your Linux
distribution vendor.
